I should've posted these pictures a couple days ago. Yet, because of several things along the way, I didn't.
Well, like the old saying, better late than never.
So, a couple days ago, I read a magazine which I found just lying there in the carriage.
Then, I stumbled upon an article about Orang-utans in Borneo.
For those who don't familiar with it, Borneo is the third largest island in the world which is divided among three countries: Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Approximately 73% of the island belongs to Indonesia (full information
here).
The article suggests that unlike Malaysia, Indonesia is not that proactive in wildlife conservation: "Compared with neighbouring Indonesia, Malaysia is encouragingly proactive when it comes to wildlife conservation."
That sentence there, was really struck me. This should be a wake up call for Indonesia, not only for the government, but for all the society. We should be ashamed, even other countries could think that Indonesia doesn't take conservation seriously. But, who to blame? Look what have we done to the woods in Borneo! Look at our wildlife sanctuaries' poor condition!
Come on people!
